Creative Edinburgh Artist Showcase 2026
Creative Edinburgh is a registered Scottish Charity committed to helping creatives thrive. Through events, career support and advocacy, they bring together and help grow the city’s creative community, providing a space for creation, collaboration and connection at every stage of your career.
As an illustrator and graphic designer based in Edinburgh, I’m always looking for opportunities to connect with the city’s creative community, share my work, and continue developing my practice. Becoming part of Creative Edinburgh feels like an important step in that journey.
Becoming part of Edinburgh’s creative community
This year marks an exciting milestone in my creative journey. I recently joined Creative Edinburgh as a Premium Member and was selected to exhibit my work in the Creative Edinburgh Artist Showcase 2026, held at The Melting Pot in Edinburgh.
Joining the community is a big step towards becoming part of a network of people who care about creativity, place and meaningful design. As someone whose work is inspired by architecture, travel and storytelling, I’m excited to learn from other creatives while contributing my own perspective.
The exhibition featured four of my architectural illustrations of Edinburgh.
My process combines on-location sketching, photography and digital illustration to create artwork that captures not only the bridges but also the atmosphere and character of each place.
Forth Bridges
Inspired by the three iconic bridges at South
Queensferry, this illustration explores the
relationship between structures from different
eras of engineering.
The Shore Bridge
Bird’s-eye view of The Shore Bridge, an
important part of Leith’s history, once
connecting the busy quays and now linking
the historic waterfront with its newer
developments.
Regent Bridge
Regent Bridge captures one of Edinburgh’s
historic landmarks from a fresh perspective,
looking towards The Melting Pot on Calton
Road. Completed in 1819, the bridge continues
to connect different parts of the city, reflecting
Edinburgh’s rich architectural heritage.
North Bridge
To celebrate the reopening of North Bridge,
this illustration captures one of Edinburgh’s
most recognisable views, showing the
Balmoral Hotel standing proudly above the
bridge.
It was great to see the artwork right next to the window facing the North Bridge; it certainly connects to that place. It was also very nice to engage in conversations with other artists; events like the Artist Showcase are a reminder that being a creative is more than creating finished artworks that sell; it’s a lot about the connections, reflections and all the stories behind each piece. It is so special to have the chance to chat about the creative process and find out what inspires people!
