Distor(cidade) was an academic experiment carried out at the Coimbra University in Portugal.

With a mirror as a portal, the video goes through corridors, stairs, and shows the “Cabra” – an iconic tower and city monument. The work was inspired by Escher’s “diminishing tessellations” paintings, aiming to explore the sensation of optical confusion, playing with the distortion of perception and the feeling of space in video. At some point the visual effect was used then we start to question what is real, reflex, and effect.
