A BIT ABOUT ME:
2017 – Graduation photoshoot wearing the Academic costume of the University of Coimbra.
Originally from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, my journey with art began with photography. I managed to gather a great collection of old analogue cameras, most of which I used as decoration. However, with a few that still worked, I began practicing. After much effort, I acquired my first professional equipment in mid-2011. That same year, I graduated from high school with a professional certification in business administration. For my final project, I created a business plan to turn my photography hobby into a career.
I later joined a renowned wedding photography agency in Minas Gerais, where I was responsible for creating fine art personalized photo albums and general editing. This experience ignited my passion for design. In 2013, I entered one of the best universities in my country, becoming the first person in my family to achieve this milestone. I chose to study Design, and a few years later, I moved to Portugal after an amazing exchange program in Multimedia Design at Coimbra University.
After my studies, my journey shaped a unique blend of skills that helped me consolidate my freelance career. I worked mainly on a project-by-project basis and collaborated with small to medium-sized clients remotely. The freedom of freelance work allowed me to travel bikepacking, cycling 2000 km in an adventurous crossing from Amsterdam to Portugal.
I fell in love with traveling and never stopped drawing. In nearly every place I visited, I created quick sketches, often capturing architectural city landmarks. Inspired by Marc Augé’s concept of ‘non-places,’ I began producing artworks that might not hold enough significance to be recorded as places from a community perspective. Instead, they reveal everyday narratives of belonging, affectivity, and resistance. I continue to work on these illustrations, aiming to invite viewers to discover the familiar in the unknown, creating a space for reflection and comparison through a visual journey of the locations I’ve explored.
2019- Crossing the village of Palencia in Spain visiting the ‘Juako’, a Mural of Joaquín Vila
2021 – Admiring the Scottish architecture for an illustration, which later became a Poster for the Edinburgh Climate Festival.
COVID changed everything, and for me, it was no different.
Since then, I have settled in Scotland, continuing my work as a graphic designer, though on a smaller scale, collaborating locally with clients in the United Kingdom.
I also returned to my studies, completing a Postgraduate degree in Garden Design in 2021. Now, I am enthusiastically seeking opportunities to gain practical experience in Landscape Architecture.
I am eager to contribute effectively to landscape projects, particularly those involving community gardens, public spaces, and practices that incorporate eco-friendly and sustainable elements.
