The Shore in Leith is one of my earlier and most popular illustrations, was brought back and refined to further develop the composition, contrast, and overall visual impact. It captures the distinctive waterfront atmosphere. At the centre of the composition is The Shore Bridge, a key feature of the scene. Historically, the bridge provided access to the far-side quays, playing an important role in the area’s maritime activity. Today, it connects to newer developments along the Leith waterfront, linking past and present within the same space.
